In addition to the Baduanjin Qigong exercises mentioned in a previous post, I began practicing these Tai Chi Meditative Movements outside in the fresh air and sunshine during the Wuhan coronavirus shutdown. Fresh air and sunshine is great for your health at any time. It is even more beneficial during pandemic times such as these since fresh air and sunshine can help combat the coronavirus. Doctors in China have even used Tai Chi and Baduanjin to help coronavirus patients.
Tai Chi is a form of moving meditation that is great as a relaxing exercise to promote health and well being for both the mind and body. Before learning a long complicated Tai Chi form however, it can be much easier to start with a simple set of basics like these Tai Chi Meditative Movements.
Much like the Baduanjin exercises, I thought others might find these simple Tai Chi Meditative Movements useful during the COVID shutdowns as well as to continue practicing afterwards. So I created and posted this series of videos for easy reference. The video above goes through the full set of 7 Tai Chi Meditative Movements and the videos below show each of the individual Meditative Movements to make it easier to learn them one by one. These Tai Chi Meditative Movements are based on those described in the book Chi – Discovering Your Life Energy by Master Waysun Liao.
For more detailed information please see our Tai Chi Meditative Movements Video Page.
My son and I both practice the Yang Style 24 Short Form of Tai Chi. We will post a video of the full form in a later post. So stay tuned!
