KUSANKU is the most advanced and most difficult kata of Matsubayashi Ryu. It includes many advanced techniques including the double flying front kick and some spinning and dropping techniques. It was brought to Okinawa in the 1700s by a Chinese diplomat named Kusanku. It is said it takes a decade to master. I still have a long way to go of course!
These videos are part of an advanced study project I took on as a Yondan and Renshi. The purpose was to video document the full set of 18 Matsubayashi Ryu kata as well as a few additional kata to use as a baseline for further refinement and study.
